Helicopters Have Always Been In The Blood Of The Wallis Family
Founded by Sir Tim Wallis in the early 1960’s, the company first began by using helicopters when Tim pioneered their use to economically harvest deer from the mountains of New Zealand. As Tim’s knowledge and experience grew, the company followed suit. In the 1980’s the company diversified by venturing into the tourism industry.
Alpine Helicopters has grown to incorporate a modern fleet of helicopters with highly trained pilots specialising in scenic adventures, commercial, agriculture, and heli-skiing. Alpine Helicopters has moved a long way since its early years, but remains a family owned and operated company committed to quality and service.
Alpine Helicopters is a part of The Alpine Group, owned by the Wallis family. The Alpine Group has interests across Aviation, Tourism, Processing and Export.
Alpine Helicopters operate a large fleet of modern helicopters comprised of Squirrel AS350 B2 & B3 aircraft, as well as the MD500E. This fleet provides scale and availability across the wide variety of services that we are able to offer to our customers.
AS350 'Squirrel' Helicopter
Commonly referred to as ‘the Squirrel’, the AS350B2 (or Airbus H125) machine is a modern, six passenger seat open cockpit aircraft which allows all passengers unencumbered, panoramic views. The AS350B3 provides the same benefits with increased lifting capacity. The Squirrel is an extremely versatile helicopter, lending itself effortlessly to high end tourism and commercial work.
The MD500E is a light utility helicopter manufactured by MD Helicopters. It is a member of the MD500 series of light utility civilian and military helicopters. The helicopter offers excellent speed, payload and performance in its class.
