Alpine Helicopters are based in Wanaka New Zealand, and specialise in scenic helicopter tours, air tours and helicopter charter.

Alpine Helicopters is a second-generation company owned and operated by Toby Wallis, a highly experienced local pilot, who has intimate local knowledge of Wanaka, the Southern Alps and both the World Heritage listed Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks. Toby holds both commercial helicopter and aircraft pilot licenses, and has over 11 years local flying experience, ensuring safe, informative and enjoyable scenic helicopter tours and air tours.

Toby’s father, Sir Tim Wallis, who also owns the Alpine Deer Group, a renowned wildlife management and deer farming operation, set up the first generation Alpine Helicopters in Wanaka New Zealand in 1972. The company has an enviable long-standing reputation, and is renowned for high quality helicopter charter, scenic helicopter tours and air tours. Alpine Helicopters is certified under Civil Aviation Part 135, the highest attainable standard of air transport regulations in New Zealand.

A strong family outdoor tradition is continued by Toby’s brothers, Jonathan and Matthew, who own and operate Minaret Outfitters, a company specialising in hunting, fishing and adventure. Minaret Outfitters offer exclusive hunting and fishing on the private, family owned Minaret Recreational Estate, providing some of the best New Zealand stag hunting and New Zealand trout fishing available.
